Signs of Life

Me: Josiah, I'd like a little privacy in the shower. Go play in the sunroom or something.
Josiah disappears and comes back 5 minutes later...
Josiah: Mommy! I am playing with the smores...
I'm suspicious. I follow him to the living room.
I find this.

Apparently the couch stuffing looks like marshmellows. (Actually, it kinda does I never realized it before.).
I call Ryan in to see the mess and we both express our extreme displeasure,
Us: Oh, Josiah. That is NOT ok. You have to clean that ALL up. We NEVER do that to the couch cushions..
Ryan and I hide our smiles and try to control our trembleing voices as we bust up laughing behind the door.

He is still cleaning it all up as I type.
His method? Pick up one piece, jump on the pile to stuff it in, pick up one piece, jump on the pile to stuff it in...

Josiah: Mommy, I'm doing a good job cleaning up!
Me: Yes you are. Keep working because you're not doing anything else until you finish... Keep it up!

Stuff, jump, stuff, jump, stuff, jump...I think he's having a little too much fun with this. ; )

Pray for Kelsey

Everytime I update the blog I feel the call to ask people to pray for Kelsey.

I keep updating as our lives march on. However, as I treasure each memory we are making, I am reminded of our cousin Kelsey whose family is putting their life memories on hold as she battles cancer.

Please take a minute (literally, that's all it would take) to check out her blog and pray for Kelsey's cancer to be healed.

Specifically, Pray for their 3 year old daughter and her husband as they fight through this with her.
Pray for Kelsey's appointment on the 29th. The doctors will find out if/how the chemo treatments have been working, please pray for positive results.
Feel free to pass the prayer request along.

Thank you.
Love,
Our Family

Alien Invasion

They came in. They invaded our home and our lives.

It's rumored that they can hold their breath for up to 14 hours
They have morphed to become resistant to posion.
They live exclusively on human hosts.

I bagged up all our pillows, blankets and stuffed animals.
I washed every sheet and blanket in the house.
And yet still they lurk in the shadows, ready to re-invade at a moment's notice.

Lice.
They're little alien invaders that live off the blood of human hosts.
Wish me luck. If they're not gone in a week we may have to call for backup.

What price did you pay for for 30 minutes of peace and quiet this morning? ; )

Happy Campers

The military does it right.

Thanks to Joey, we got two sites in the military-only campground in San O.  Thanks Joey! In our two adjoining sites we had my mom and dad, both my sisters and their husbands, and us. We had walks on the beach, margaritas, books, mid-day naps...

We were literaly on the sand, just about 20 feet from the crashing waves.

Our campsite was just a few minutes walk from the great surf spots, Old Mans, Churches and Lowers. As a bonus, there was a bit of a swell all week. I had sandy, salty hair  for about six days straight. We surfed for hours each day.
Between the surf and the tropical weather, it reminded me of traveling around Central America and Mexico.

(A little pre-bed dirt roll in his pjs. Nice.)

Surf overload for us, smores overload for the kids, and lots of love from our family...we went to bed every night, very, very happy campers ;)

There's a Stormtrooper in my Room!...

This morning Kaila woke up to a three foot tall Jedi Stormtrooper standing in her doorway yelling in his deepest, raspy voice...

"WAKE UP KAILA!!"

                                                            It didn't even phase her.

                                                                    Remarkable.

NOTE: Ryan corrected me. That is a Stormtrooper, not a Jedi. Apparently, "Everyone knows that Jedi's dont wear masks."

Grandma and Grandpa...

All of our grandparents have different names. There's Grandma and Grandpa on Ry's side and Granny and Tata on my side. Then, as far as Great-Grandparents go there's Gi-Gi and Great Gran-Mommy. We recently just got to spend some great time with Gi-Gi, Grandma and Grandpa...Our time with them was definitely the highlight of our Chico trip.

The day before Father's day I did a half-century ride with Ryan and his dad...It was a super fun day!

Sorry, there's no Father's Day post! We actually had a great breakfast and spent some fun time picking blueberries and visiting Paulo's farm.  It just doesn't get it's own documentation this year... :) Love you lots Ry!
