Alien Invasion

They came in. They invaded our home and our lives.

It's rumored that they can hold their breath for up to 14 hours
They have morphed to become resistant to posion.
They live exclusively on human hosts.

I bagged up all our pillows, blankets and stuffed animals.
I washed every sheet and blanket in the house.
And yet still they lurk in the shadows, ready to re-invade at a moment's notice.

Lice.
They're little alien invaders that live off the blood of human hosts.
Wish me luck. If they're not gone in a week we may have to call for backup.

What price did you pay for for 30 minutes of peace and quiet this morning? ; )

Happy Campers

The military does it right.

Thanks to Joey, we got two sites in the military-only campground in San O.  Thanks Joey! In our two adjoining sites we had my mom and dad, both my sisters and their husbands, and us. We had walks on the beach, margaritas, books, mid-day naps...

We were literaly on the sand, just about 20 feet from the crashing waves.

Our campsite was just a few minutes walk from the great surf spots, Old Mans, Churches and Lowers. As a bonus, there was a bit of a swell all week. I had sandy, salty hair  for about six days straight. We surfed for hours each day.
Between the surf and the tropical weather, it reminded me of traveling around Central America and Mexico.

(A little pre-bed dirt roll in his pjs. Nice.)

Surf overload for us, smores overload for the kids, and lots of love from our family...we went to bed every night, very, very happy campers ;)

There's a Stormtrooper in my Room!...

This morning Kaila woke up to a three foot tall Jedi Stormtrooper standing in her doorway yelling in his deepest, raspy voice...

"WAKE UP KAILA!!"

                                                            It didn't even phase her.

                                                                    Remarkable.

NOTE: Ryan corrected me. That is a Stormtrooper, not a Jedi. Apparently, "Everyone knows that Jedi's dont wear masks."

Grandma and Grandpa...

All of our grandparents have different names. There's Grandma and Grandpa on Ry's side and Granny and Tata on my side. Then, as far as Great-Grandparents go there's Gi-Gi and Great Gran-Mommy. We recently just got to spend some great time with Gi-Gi, Grandma and Grandpa...Our time with them was definitely the highlight of our Chico trip.

The day before Father's day I did a half-century ride with Ryan and his dad...It was a super fun day!

Sorry, there's no Father's Day post! We actually had a great breakfast and spent some fun time picking blueberries and visiting Paulo's farm.  It just doesn't get it's own documentation this year... :) Love you lots Ry!

It Appears...Chester

Ryan and I decided that our kids have it pretty good.
Wonderful things just "appear" each day.
Each day they wake up and get lots of hugs and kisses. Then a delicious (usually hot) meal appears for them to eat. Throughout the day friends and fun new toys appear in houses they visit.  When the kids ride in the car the beach suddenly appears, or sometimes it's the park or zoo...Then, around noon there's more yummy food. They just ask and it appears!

When they get sleepy for a nap a warm bed and blanket always appear, along with a few hours set aside to rest. After naptime they just play and sometimes friends appear again. Feeling hungry kiddos? More yummy food suddenly appears (dinner), followed by a warm bubble bath, lots of snuggles and a warm bed.
Hey Ry, Can I have that schuedule for a Mother's Day gift next year!

Imagine what is going through their heads when they get in the car. They don't know, is it 3 min. to the store? 5 min to the gym? 20 minutes to an Aunt's house? They have no idea. They just buckle up and wait.
A couple of weeks ago they unsuspectingly got into the car and 8 hours and two days later they arrived here...

The family cabin in Chester.

Suddenly, they're fishing and exploring riverbeds every day.
They have no idea what happened to our home or if we're ever going back. They don't care.
This amazing place just appeared and they love it!

(Imagine if one day you're plopped in a bike carrier and then...

this cool lake appears that you get to swim and throw rocks in...

Then you jump in the car and before you know it... it's amazing! An ice cream cone that's half the size of your head appears in your hand and you get to devour the whole thing guilt free. Life is good.)

God has blessed us with the ability to abundantly provide for our kids' needs in so many different ways, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Ryan and I consider it a great gift that we can  be a part of helping these blessings "appear" in our kid's lives.

Daddy's Little Girl

A sneak peak into our trip up to Chico and then on to the cabin up in Chester...more to come!
